Last Updated: December 3, 2025

1. Introduction

Public Check is a DNS and SSL configuration checker. We respect your privacy and are committed to transparency. This policy explains our minimal data practices.

2. Information We Collect

Domain names you enter for analysis (e.g., "example.com").

We do NOT collect: Personal information, email addresses, names, device identifiers, or location data.

3. How We Use Your Information

Domain names are used solely to query DNS records and SSL certificate information. Queries are sent to third-party services:

  • Google Public DNS (DNS record lookups)
  • Qualys SSL Labs API (SSL certificate analysis)
  • API Layer / RDAP.org (domain registration information)
  • IP-API.com (CDN detection)
  • corsproxy.io (proxy for API access)

Results are displayed in-app only.

4. Data Storage and Retention

We do NOT store any data locally on your device. Domain queries exist only in memory while the app is running. Closing the app clears all data.

5. Third-Party Services

Domain names are transmitted to the services listed above. Each service has its own privacy policy. We do NOT control these third-party services.

6. External Links

The app provides links to dmarcian.com and ssllabs.com for additional analysis. When you click these links, you leave our app and their privacy policies apply.

7. Data Sharing and Sale

We do NOT sell, rent, or trade your data. We do NOT share data with advertisers or marketers. Domain queries are shared only with technical service providers for functionality.

8. Analytics and Tracking

We do NOT use analytics tools. We do NOT track your usage. We do NOT collect crash reports or diagnostics.

9. Children's Privacy

Public Check does not collect personal information from users of any age. The app is safe for all ages.

10. Your Rights

You control what domain names you query. No stored data means no data to access, modify, or delete. You can uninstall the app at any time.

11. Security

Domain queries are transmitted via HTTPS where supported. No local storage eliminates data breach risk from device loss.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in practices or legal requirements. Updates will be posted at this URL with a revised "Last Updated" date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
